Do your favorite pop-culture icons get adopted by your children?
I was raised in the time of Star Wars. I might have been too little to go to the movies but I was there in very enthusiastic spirit.
There were times that Star Wars got to enter my life…
I remember the movie reward for all the students in my middle school with perfect attendance: a viewing of Return Of The Jedi in the school cafeteria.
I spent many, many, many hours marching to the music of all 3 movies in high school. Band Camp was both awful and awesome.
Even if I tried to hate on Han Solo’s and Leia love affair, I couldn’t. It’s iconic like everything regarding Star Wars. Nowadays, it’s Disneyland with Jedi training and Star Tours.
It’s no surprise that we started watching the movies early with the kids. They’ve asked for them over & over and would play the roles during the day. How could I resist buying Leia and Vader sweatshirts when the opportunity arose??
We are the droids (aka robot family) you’ve been looking for.
Then, to capture this shot….:
That, right here, makes my family so very awesome. Now, I know about the inaccuracies in the photo: Darth has a blue Jedi saber and not red, there’s not 2 Darths, and the princess needs bigger buns but shut up about all that. It’s my stinking cute family….minus one. My Han, unfortunately, is in hiding from the photo but he mentioned that he knows when I told him that I loved him.
The force is strong with my brood.
I’m hooking up with Greta & Sarah for iPPP because they know all the cool places to hang out.
